DAY 1, ARRIVE AT BHUBANESHWAR
On arrival at Bhubaneshwar you will be received by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Bhubaneshwar, the ancient capital of Orissa, is known as the temple city of India. After check in you will visit temples around the Bindusagar Tank where 500 temples remain built between the 7th century and the 11th century AD. Among these temples there are two outstanding temples to visit: the 11th century Lingaraja Temple reflecting Orissa art and the late 10th century beautifully decorated Muktesvara Temple. On the outskirts of the city you will visit Udayagiri and Khandgiri caves, dating back to the time of Jain and Buddhist occupation in this region during 2nd century BC.
DAY 2, BHUBANESHWAR TO DHAULI TO KONAR TO PURI
After breakfast you will travel to Puri by road. On the way you will halt on Dhauli and Konark. In Dhauli the Mauryan Emperor Ashoka renounced violence and embraced the preaching of Buddha. You will visit the Peace Pagoda known as Shanti Stupa built in early 1970s by the Japanese. You will also visit two ancient rock edicts Dating from 260BC outlined Ashoka’s detailed instructions to rule with gentleness and fairness. You will also have an opportunity to explore the colorful village of Pipili with Orissa handicrafts.
In Konark you will Visit Chariot of the Sun temple, built by King Langula Narasimha Deva in the 13th century AD known as the golden era of Orissa art. The temple represents high level architecture and sculpture. This temple was served as a beacon to the ancient and medieval mariners. The European soldiers referred this magnificent structure as Black Pagoda lies in ruins.
DAY 3, PURI SIGHTSEEN
After breakfast you will have a full day tour in Puri which is one of the four principal holy cities in India. You will visit the famous Jagannath Temple.
DAY 4, PURI TO CHILKA LAKE
After breakfast you will travel to Chilka Lake by road. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Chilka Lake, spread over 1100 sq km, is the country’s largest lake. Chilka is rich in aquatic life and many migratory birds arrive here in winter.
DAY 5, CHILKA LAKE TO GOPALPUR
In the early morning you will have a tour in Chilka Lake. After breakfast you will travel to Gopalpur by road. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Gopalpur is an ancient seaport.
DAY 6, GOPALPUR TO TAPTAPANI
After breakfast you will have time to relax. In the afternoon you will travel to Taptapani by road. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. After check in you will have an excursion in Chandragiri, 36km of distance, where a community of Tibetan refugees resides and surviving by weaving carpets.
DAY 7, TAPTAPANI TO RAYAGADA
After breakfast you will travel to Rayagada by road. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. Rayagada is a tribal village where they live with its distinct language and pattern of social and religious customs. These tribes are still untouched by modern ways of life
DAY 8, RAYAGADA TO KOTHGARH TO RAYAGADA
After breakfast you will travel to Kothgarh by road where you have a full day excursion in this tribal area.
DAY 9, RAYAGADA TO JEYPORE
After breakfast you will travel to Jeypore by road. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel.
DAY 10, JEYPORE TO ONUKUDELLI
After breakfast you will travel to Onukkdelli by road where you will have an opportunity to visit the Bondas (naked people) of Tibetan-Burmese origin. They live in remote hills and keep themselves isolated. Bondas grow rice by shifting cultivation and domesticate cows and goats and can only be seen when they come to trade at the local market. Therefore, we must time our visit to coincide with the weekly market day on Thursday.
DAY 11, ONUKUDELLI TO GUPTESWAR TO JEYPORE
After breakfast you will travel to Jeypore by road. On the way you have an excursion in Gupteswar visiting the caves, which are believed to have been the refuge of Lord Rama during his fourteen years of exile, and the place where he worshiped Shiva.
DAY 12, JEYPORE TO VISHAKHAPATNAM TO DELHI
After breakfast you will travel to Vishakhapatnam for your departure.
