SIKANDRA :- The city was established by Sikander Lodi, a famous ruler of Lodi dynasty. Later it was captured by mughal emperor Babur. At the present, it is famous for the tomb of Akbar, begun by the emperor himself later it was completed by his son, Jehangir. In Indian history, he was the only one ruler who began to build his own garden mausoleum during his lifetime. It was built in red sandstone in a chahar-bagh or 4 square garden’s shape. A magnificent marble-inlaid gateway with four minarets welcomes the visitors in its premises to enjoy life among Indian antelopes. Four minarets in Taj Mahal is a copy of Akbar’s mausoleum.
